When a painting is assessed a thorough condition report will be written, outlining what repairs or fine arts conservation measures are required. Once a course of action is agreed with the client any urgent action will be taken in order to make the paintings safe. We then employ treatments that will protect the painting from further deterioration. Conservation work can then be undertaken over a longer period of time according to the client’s requirements.
We also offer preventative care of paintings to our clients. This may include removing surface grime, removing dust and debris from the reverse, checking that canvasses are securely attached to the stretcher and any number of other procedures to keep the painting in pristine condition.
