We specialise in re-caning furniture and cane furniture conservation, and this painstaking work is undertaken by our craftsmen. In accordance with our general policy, all proposed work is discussed in depth with the client prior to commencement.
Recent commissions include a Bergere where the cane had cracked badly on the seat and sides. On this occasion we were able to carefully stabilize the damaged cane by a ‘matching and patching’ process. In circumstances where the damage is such that areas need to be re-caned the materials used are matched from our own stock. This would be documented in full.
