A furniture wax finish is built up over a period of time by bodying up the surface area, increasing the depth and patina in the process. Waxing is used to finish/re-finish an item by matching it to the original. We use our own furniture waxes, as well as the standard waxes available – this can be a mixture of beeswax and carnauba wax, depending on what the desired effect is. Beeswax is traditional, and is used for building up a finish. Carnauba wax is a naturally occurring resin style wax and is particularly hard and durable.
Staining and polishing can be carried out in conjunction with blending colours to match surface areas or to refresh and enhance furniture wax finishes. We use traditional materials throughout.
